First of all, let me thank you for the kind honor that you have bestowed upon me, by allowing me the opportunity to serve as the President of TLCA. Our association is one of the oldest and well recognized Organizations in the USA and has done very well to preserve, promote and propagate the Telugu language and culture in this part of the world for past 40 yrs. I am proud to have been associated with this great Organization for the past 9 years, and look forward to a long and bright future for TLCA. I must also let you know how pleased I am to be working with a team of highly qualified and dedicated professionals in the New Executive Committee of 2012. My warmest congratulations to the entire team on its election!
During the inaugural ceremony, I mentioned some of my goals and objectives as a President. I wish to continue the good work of my predecessors, and I will make every effort to pursue programs that are beneficial to our members and community. Here is a brief overview on this year’s agenda so far:
Cultural Programs: In addition to our three major programs, we shall work to develop other events this year.
Literary Activities: Literary activities will also be given more importance this year.
Youth Participation: I wish to encourage our youth to become more actively involved in the programs of the TLCA Youth Wing. We shall focus on conducting programs that will motivate and attract maximum Youth participation starting this year. But, of course, this can only be accomplished with the support and encouragement of parents.
Health Seminars: We will organize a free health examination and counseling camp this year.
Web: We wish to encourage the marketing people, or companies, to advertise their products & services on our Web page. This will provide them with much needed exposure, while also contributing revenue to TLCA.
Fun Filled Activities: We shall continue to organize our regular Picnic, Independence Day celebrations, and the entertaining Cricket Matches and Tennis Tournaments.
Souvenirs: This has been a key Fund Raising activity for TLCA during the last several years. The funds generated through advertisements helps TLCA to conduct some of its programs. Additionally, we also need the funds that we receive from the generous donors, without whose help and support it would be difficult to conduct all of our programs. TLCA is a prestigious organization for the Telugu Community and its functions and activities are of the utmost importance for all of us. I humbly call on our members to generously support all of the TLCA programs, so that we can achieve the goals that we shall set.
As President I am presenting my ideas and plans in front of you ahead of time. Without your support and participation, it would be difficult to implement these ideas and plans into reality. Your advice/suggestions are extremely valuable to us and are always welcome. TLCA will also make every effort to ensure that community announcements and schedule of upcoming events are communicated in a timely manner so that our members can plan their attendance and participation well in advance.
