Dear Friends,
At the outset, my heartfelt thanks to all of you for giving me the opportunity to serve in the capacity of President of TLCA, which is one of the oldest and well recognized organizations in USA and continues to focus on the spirit to preserve, promote and propagate the Telugu language and culture in US. I am proud to be associated with the Organization for the last 11 years having served the community for the last 8 years in various capacities- as an office bearer and rising in rank from Executive Committee member. I am thrilled and proud to be working with a team of highly qualified professionals and congratulate them for getting elected to the New Executive committee of 2010.
During my acceptance address as President I mentioned my goals/objectives and would like to make every effort to pursue the following:
Cultural Programs and continued activity: In addition to our three major programs, I would like to conduct programs based on your interest and feedback. I will appreciate if you can kindly share your ideas regarding any talented artists, honoring visiting dignitaries and accomplished people.
Youth Participation: I would like to encourage our youth to be proactive, to get involved in the activities of the TLCA Youth wing. I will focus in conducting some interesting programs that will motivate our Youth to participate. This will be accomplished only with the parents support and encouragement.
Literary Activities: Literary activities will be given adequate importance and I would like the seniors and elders of our community to participate and conduct literary discourses periodically under the banner of TLCA. I would request interested parties to take active role in conducting and promoting such programs.
Business Seminars: I am planning to conduct a business seminar which will be beneficial and productive for our community. Also contemplating to arrange free seminars to discuss Estate Plan, Tax laws, exemptions, and reporting requirements as they apply individuals, professionals and to non-profit or exempt organizations.
Health Seminars: We are proud that our community is blessed with Medical professionals in all different fields. I request these specialists to extend their helping hand in hosting health seminars which will be beneficial to all. Similarly we will also invite the organizations that run Yoga and physical fitness programs. This is an open invitation to everyone within and outside the community to attend these seminars and make best use of them.
Web: We have made several changes to make it a revenue generating Website. The revised website is also supported by an user friendly Administration panel, which can be easily maintained even by a person who is not a Computer Programmer. As part of youth particpation program, I am planning to give partial control of this website to the youth for the youth activities under the guidance of an EC Member.
Fun Filled Activities: I am planning for some fun filled outdoor activities during the summer. Please attend to sizzle out the stress and I will guarantee that you will enjoy and be cheering and will have a good feeling spending the day with your friends and our community people. (For example: Fun Filled Cruise and TLCA Annual Picnic).
Souvenir: This has been a key Fund Raising method for TLCA for last several years. The funds generated through Advertisements Helps TLCA to conduct Part of the program. Besides we also need donations from the generous donors, without their help and support it is difficult to conduct all programs throughout the year. TLCA is a prestigious organization for Telugu Community and its functions and activities are of utmost importance for all of us. I sincerely request each and every one of you to be generous and be supportive of TLCA to conduct ongoing programs successfully.
As a President I am laying my ideas and plans before you. Without your participation and attendance it is difficult to translate the ideas and plans into reality. Your advice/suggestions are extremely valuable to us to conduct above programs successfully. TLCA will make every effort to ensure the timely community announcements regarding the upcoming events and look forward to your attendance and participation in full strength and support.
